ESCAPERS: Memories into Games Workshop

About the Workshop

Facilitated by Odd Statue Social, and hosted on the welcoming premises of Kifi Volou, this public workshop series was the heart of our co-creation process. We invited seniors from the local community to join us for sessions dedicated to storytelling and reminiscence. The goal was to gather the rich, personal histories that would become the foundation for the project's unique escape games. This activity was a direct collaboration between community members and our game designers to ensure our games are authentic and meaningful.

Workshop Activities Included:

• Facilitated storytelling circles where participants shared personal memories and historical anecdotes.
• Interactive discussions to explore common themes, interests, and compelling narratives.
• Collaborative brainstorming sessions with game designers to identify key elements that could be transformed into puzzles and game scenarios.
• A celebration of local heritage and the invaluable social contribution of our senior community.

Outcome

The stories gathered during these workshops were documented and provided to the project's lead game designers. This material was essential for developing the five ESCAPERS games, ensuring each one is built upon the real-life experiences of the generation they aim to honor.
