Every great journey begins with a single step. For our project ESCAPERS, that step was taken in the historic city of Lecce in Southern Italy, where our two-day Kick-off Meeting was held on February 15th and 16th, 2024.
With the warm hospitality of our Italian partner, ASSOCIAZIONE CULTURALE EDUVITA E.T.S., representatives from all five partner organizations from Greece, Ireland, Italy, and Spain met in person for the first time to transform the vision of ESCAPERS into a concrete, operational action plan.
More Than Just a Meeting
A kick-off meeting is much more than a series of presentations. It is the moment when a group of diverse individuals from across Europe begins to transform into a cohesive team with a common purpose. During these two days:
- We Laid the Foundation: We clearly defined the roles, responsibilities, and management procedures that will guide us for the next 24 months.
- We Drew the Roadmap: We analyzed each work package, from the creation of the Methodological Guide to the design of the games and the final dissemination events.
- We Aligned Our Vision: We agreed on strategies for quality, evaluation, and the dissemination of results, ensuring that we are all working towards the same goals with the same approach.
- We Built Relationships: The in-person interaction allowed us to build the personal connections that are essential for a smooth and productive collaboration.
The Energy to Move Forward
We left Lecce not only with a detailed map for the future of the project but also with a sense of optimism and collective commitment. The meeting confirmed that our consortium has the expertise, passion, and collaborative spirit required to carry out the mission of ESCAPERS.
The journey to bridge the generational gap through play has officially begun. Next stop: creation!
